Irma’s Story: Lifestyle Changes and Rebuilding Confidence
I lost 12 pounds in 21 days on the Ultimate HCG Weight Loss plan so far.
This is an amazing feat considering many people I know who spend hours in the gym and constantly counting calories could take months to reach this type of weight loss.
More importantly, the changes within my lifestyle are significant. I no longer drink coke all day long. I eat vegetables with every meal. I drink, at minimum, a half a gallon of water each day. I don’t drink alcohol. I don’t eat fried food or exorbitant amounts of bread. Fast food is no longer an option. I care what goes into my mouth. That last statement is the one that is most important.
For too many years, I just didn’t care…..and it shows.
Of course, zipping through a drive through is much easier, but with an allotted 500 calories a day, I could eat more than that in one sitting at most fast food chains. Wait, did I just say 500 calories? Yes, I did. That is the statement that usually leads most of my friends to disregard this weight loss plan with statements like:
- Well, of course you are going to lose weight on 500 calories….you are starving yourself.
- That’s just not healthy!
- I could never do that. I would die on so few calories a day!
Well, no, you are not going to die. Plenty of people have undergone this weight loss program and stuck to it. Is it healthy? Yes. Wouldn’t you say gorging yourself on fast food, butter, soda, and deep-fried meats is UN-healthy? More importantly, the HCG plan has been studied and perfected over decades to work AND keep weight off with the 500 calorie plan. Here’s how:
HCG targets abnormal excess fat instead of healthy structural fat, so the first places you will lose fat are the places where your body stores it first, such as; the belly, hips, thighs, buttocks, and upper arms.
HCG does not increase heart rate. Also, HCG suppresses the appetite, so most patients feel very little hunger. In order to get the body to sense that there is an “emergency,” HCG dieters follow a very specific diet of 500 calories, and only certain food may be eaten to keep the body burning fat. When followed properly, the body will release 2,500 calories in the bloodstream daily, in addition to the deficit in caloric intake (about 1,000 to 2,000 daily).
This translates to about 3,500 to 4,500 calories that will be burned daily by the body. The HCG hormone causes your hypothalamus to mobilize the fat out of the fat storage locations so that it’s available for use, but this is only effective if your body recognizes a significant drop of calories. While you are only consuming 500 calories, your hypothalamus is continually releasing the fat stored in your body. Because of this, your body is actually operating on thousands of calories a day; that is the reason HCG dieters lose 1 to 2 pounds of fat or more per day.
Hopefully, the explanation will help others understand how the plan works and why it works in the most targeted areas (especially for women).
In the past 21 days, I have gone over the 500 calories and didn’t lose weight. Recently, I took a mini-vacation where I drank 1 strawberry daquiri and did not lose weight the entire 4 days I was gone. (I ate well, so I didn’t gain weight either). Sticking to the plan is paramount. Deviating from the plan shows on the scale. You can’t trick yourself into cheating….your body knows.
Speaking of the scale….Yes, I was aggravated upon returning home to learn that my best friend, who started a week after me, was inching up on 10 pounds lost as I sat at 11 pounds lost. Although the doctor stresses NOT comparing your progress with others (as every person reacts differently), it was disheartening for a day. I realized I wasn’t drinking enough water, eating too much meat, and skipping a meal here and there. I resolved to go back and follow the plan to a “T”. This morning….1 more pound down. Thank Goodness!
Enough with scale already, right? Well, let’s discuss the measuring tape. My stomach is notably flatter (Hooray!!!!), my arms are smaller and my face is thinning out too (in a very good way). For the past several months, I stopped allowing people to take pictures of me, since I hated the way my face looked. Now, I am getting my confidence back. I packed a tankini and a bikini for my vacation getaway, and guess which suit I wore to the pool??? The bikini!
If you are currently on the program or thinking about joining the program, remember, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING for 42 DAYS! Good luck!
